Charles’ Passionate Love Letters to Diana Uncovered—She Hoped William and Harry Would One Day Read Them. Full detail on the letters below

Contrary to popular belief, ‘there was a period of intense love and passion’ between the late Princess Diana and the Prince of Wales and she was desperate for her sons to know that

A few weeks before she died, Princess Diana revealed that she had kept love letters from her former husband that she wished to be made public, although they never have been.

The world is accustomed to thinking of the union between Princess Diana and the then Prince Charles as a tumultuous and destructive one. But there was a period of time when the couple were happy and surprisingly, Diana spoke of it shortly before she died. The warring pair divorced in 1996 after 15 years of marriage and Diana fought to get her side of the story across in her bombshell interview with the BBC ’s Martin Bashir, following Charles’ affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, who is now Queen. Despite the acrimonious split though, it seemed she still had fond memories of her marriage in later life.

Just a few weeks before she was tragically killed in a car crash in Paris in 1997, and when she was in a relationship with Dodi Fayed, Diana spoke to royal biographer Ingrid Seward about her wish for her sons and the public to see the love letters Charles had sent her in the early days of their romance.
