‘Proud’ Nelly Korda Finds Zero Haters Through Bold Confession Post Olympic Failure: ‘Hardest Game Ever’

“Nelly has plenty to be proud of.” Such words of consolation might not be enough for someone like Nelly Korda, who represented the United States at the quadrennial event. But when similar words come from her own mouth, that might be more than enough to calm herself down. Especially after failing to win the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

A post was shared by Golf.com on their Instagram handle showcasing a remark that the American golfer made after her T22 finish at the quadrennial event. “I played some really solid golf for the three years after Tokyo to get me back on this team,” said the 26-year-old while alluding to her finishes and wins following the previous Olympics. “I’m a two-time Olympian and I have a gold medal and I’m proud of that.”

The past three years have been very eventful for the athlete. Korda has won a total of eight times since she clinched the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics. And this figure also includes a major win at the Chevron Championship. Well, the self-consoling confession didn’t just work on herself. Many in the community expressed their support for the American pro as soon as she said the same.

The golfer registered a score of 1-under 287 over the four days of play at Le Golf National. She did so by carding a total of 19 birdies and 11 bogeys, not to mention the two double bogeys on the par-3, 16th, and the par-4, 15th, on rounds 2 and 4, respectively. This could only help her finish tied at T22 with the likes of Minjee Lee from Australia and Pia Babnik from Slovenia. As a result of her placement, a lot of fans couldn’t help but comment while alluding to her confession, “As she should be. Golf is difficult. Golf in the Olympics, really difficult,” and “Golf is the hardest game ever. Thanks.”

The year 2024 has been both good and bad for the golfer. Out of the 12 starts she made this season, she finished seven times inside the top 10 while winning six of them. However, Nelly Korda also missed the cut in three of those events. Now, fast forward to the Olympics and she was one of the athletes who finished below par at Le Golf National. A couple of admirers could only dish out responses along the lines of “Stand tall and proud!! You did well!!” and “Of course she has nobody is denying that.”
