Lady C hits out at Prince Harry and Meghan for ‘blackmailing’ royals amid Colombia tour

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been blasted by Lady Colin Campbell for using their ongoing security battle with the UK Government as a means to “blackmail” the Royal Family.

The author and royal critic said the couple’s recent trip to Colombia, as well as the ones in Nigeria and Jamaica earlier this year, only “prove” that Prince Harry’s concerns regarding his security detail while he and his family are in the UK only serve him to blackmail “his own family”.

The Duke of Sussex brought legal action against the Home Office over the security arrangements for himself and his family when they are in the UK.

Harry contested the Home Office’s February 2020 decision that he should receive a different degree of protection when he returned to the UK after he quit his royal duties that same year.

The royal lost the case back in February and later also lost his initial bid to appeal, but an order by Lord Justice Bean, dated May 23, showed that the duke was allowed to challenge High Court judge Sir Peter Lane’s dismissal at the Court of Appeal.

Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan are on a four-day quasi-royal tour in Colombia with many critics comparing his bid for protection in Britain and reluctance to bring his family home to a visit to a country that has been long linked to political and terrorist violence.

The Sussexes are being given a full security detail throughout their Colombia visit which aims to highlight mental health for young people and how to combat cyberbullying.

But Lady C was particularly critical of the couple’s latest move and told Express.co.uk: “It [the Sussexes’s Colombia tour] shows their two-facedness.

“He [Harry] said he can’t bring his family to the UK due to his security, yet he managed to go to the most dangerous places in the world – Jamaica, Nigeria and now Colombia.

“Why can’t they visit Britain? Because he wants to blackmail his family.”
