Royal Family LIVE: ‘Real danger’ of Prince Harry and Meghan’s Colombia trip exposed
A royal commentator has pinpointed the main danger faced by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during their Colombia trip.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in Colombia on Thursday on their first visit to the South American country. They will take part in several events promoting mental health for young people and how to combat cyberbullying, the office of Colombia’s vice president said.
The couple were invited by the country’s vice-president, Francia Marquez. Harry and Meghan are being given a full security detail throughout their visit in what has been dubbed a DIY royal tour.
GB News host Patrick Christys was critical of the couple’s choice for a tour and accused them of “hypocrisy” referring to their ongoing battle with the UK government over their security in the UK, adding that the main danger for them is their link to the vice president.
He told Sky News Australia: “The idea that he [Prince Harry] and Meghan Markle would not be safe on the streets of Britain is absolutely ludicrous. And the hypocrisy is that he won’t bring back his family even for the funeral of his uncle, because he doesn’t feel safe here, but he will take Meghan to the cocaine-fuelled murdering kidnap hotspot of Bogota.
“They are visiting as guests of the vice president. Might be worth noting that vice president has to take a black hawk helicopter to work, after a series of bomb threats.”
