Jordan Spieth Drops Scary Injury Update as Miserable PGA Tour Season Ends Abruptly
Jordan Spieth‘s off-season came early. Spieth carded 72 in the final round at the TPC Southwind and won’t be progressing ahead in the playoffs. His performance this year has been subpar, to say the least, and the issue that has probably led to the poor season is the lingering wrist injury. Last year, before the PGA Championship, Spieth started facing some troubles with his wrist.
This year, during the RBC Heritage, it got bad and almost forced him to withdraw, but he did not and preserved through. He even talked about it after his pro-am round and said, “It’s a come-and-go thing; I could oddly enough twist in the wrong way getting off the ground, and I couldn’t play tomorrow. But I could play the next day,” as revealed on the AP News website. However, before the St. . Jude Championship, the golfer revealed that he would be opting for surgery to help with the issue, but he would be doing so in the off-season.
Now that his 2024 season is over, he has shared another update about it. Todd Lewis, an anchor and reporter at Golf Channel and NBC, shared a post on X revealing that after today’s disappointing round, “Spieth said he needs to have the procedure “ASAP.’” During the RBC Heritage, he also said, “It’s not really a surgical thing; it’s a rest thing,” but who would have thought that he would have to consider surgery in the end?
