King Charles reunited with cheeky pony who once tried to bite off Prince Harry’s fingers

King Charles lovingly greeted a mischievous pony who once tried to nibble Prince Harry’s fingers and took a chunk out of a bouquet of flower’s the late Queen was holding.

Charles, 75, affectionately stroked the mare during his official welcome to Balmoral on Monday morning.

Wearing a green kilt, long red socks, a checked jacket and waistcoat and a brown leather sporran, the 75-year-old monarch inspected the Balaklava Company, 5th Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland.

During the inspection, Charles greeted the mascot of the Royal Regiment of Scotland, the playful Sheltalnd pony, Cruachan IV.

The four-legged mascot was first presented to the Regiment in 2012 and undertook his first official engagement in 2013.

Yesterday he was dressed in his usual fineries, including operation medals awarded to the Regiment during his role.

But the jet-black pony has earned a reputation over the years for being rather mischievous.

In 2018 he attempted to nibble Prince Harry’s fingers when he took his then-fiance Meghan Markle on her first trip to Scotland.

A year earlier he famously took a bite out of the late Queen’s posy during a visit to Stirling Castle.
