‘Wish I Didn’t Do That’: Jessica Korda Badly Craves a ‘Mulligan’ on Injury Mistake That Derailed Her Career
Everyone has some regrets in their life. Big or small, most of us would do a few things differently if given a second chance. Athletes are no different. Jessica Korda still has one big regret from 2022 when she was severely injured.
Korda has been very thorough about her recovery process, and she has bounced back stronger every time. But Korda confessed at one point, that desperation got the better of her. Back in 2022, the 31-year-old had a series of setbacks. First, she was struggling with rib issues. Korda was unable to rotate fully affecting her swing.
To make matters worse, she fell down the stairs after the Chevron Championship. While her withdrawal at the tail end of 2022 is well-known, the actual reason was somewhat vague. She stated that doctors advised her to stop playing for a full recovery. The problem arose because she broke a few discs while slipping down the stairs. On top of it, she continued to play for a few months.
“I ended up playing on a couple of cracked discs (the) rest of the season. I kind of wish I didn’t do that. If I could get a mulligan for that I definitely would,” Jessica Korda admitted. From her words, it was evident that she permanently damaged her back which continues to create trouble for her.
