Prince Albert’s bombshell admission about wife Charlene after couple plagued by rumours

Prince Albert of Monaco has sensationally admitted that he didn’t fall in love with Princess Charlene when they first met and it took several years for them to get to that point.
In a new interview with Paris Match, Princess Charlene joined her husband to discuss their ‘partnership’ which has set tongues wagging in high society France over what has really been going on in their marriage.
In eerie similarities to the now infamous King Charles and Princess Diana ‘whatever in love means’ interview, Monaco’s sovereign did little to quash the rumours about his rather turbulent relationship.
โI donโt know if we fell in love back then,” said Prince Albert. “You know, after that I didnโt see Charlene again for several years.”
When asked what he remembers about their first meeting, Albert spoke fondly about his now wife but not what one would expect for a couple supposedly in love.
โFirst of all, I thought that she was an excellent swimmer, and that she was friendly, cheerful and approachable. We had a great time,โ he recalled.
โI donโt know if I should say this, but that night I got her into a bit of trouble because I didnโt get her โhomeโ in time.โ
To which Princess Charlene replied: โYes, I did get into a bit of trouble that night, but we wonโt go into that!โ
Prince Albert, 66, and Princess Charlene, 46 have been together for almost 15 years and have two children together – twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, both nine. They first met at a swimming competition in Monaco called the Mare Nostrum.
