Days After Removal of Her Grape-Fruit Sized Cyst, Serena Williams Shares Massive Health Update With Her Fans
Serena Williams shares a major health update with her fans. The tennis star revealed that she found a lump on her neck in May. After that, she had an MRI test and was told that she didn’t need to get it removed if she didn’t want to, so she didn’t. However, later on, the tennis legend claimed, “It kept growing,” and as a result, she had to undergo further tests. Williams even went through a biopsy that was later found negative for cancer. However, this time doctors advised her to remove the grapefruit-sized cyst as soon as possible because there was a chance of it getting infected later on. She underwent a procedure and now she looks quite fit and healthy!
Just a few days ago, Serena Williams shared a video on her TikTok account from the hospital after having gone through a successful operation. She said, “So this is me removing it” and later on, she even assured her fans by saying, “I am feeling so grateful and fortunate everything worked out, and most of all, I’m healthy.” So what exactly was she suffering from? Well, according to multiple reports, brachial cleft cysts are small cysts filled with fluid that appear like lumps under the skull on the side of the neck. Although they are mostly non-cancerous, doctors usually recommend surgery to remove them.
Explaining her suffering during this period, Serena Williams stated, “It kinda hurt coming out. Obviously I went under for it but they had to put a drain in it because it was so much.” However, now she’s happy that things have worked out well for her with the help of some great doctors. Recently, Serena Williams even posted a small video clip on her Instagram stories in which she was seen keeping up with her fitness regime by jogging. Fans are now relieved to see their favorite tennis star back to an active lifestyle after a little health scare.
