Jessica Korda Takes Baby Steps Towards Comeback After 17 Months, Amid Sister Nelly’s Injury Hiatus

May 2023 was the last time we saw Jessica Korda grace the course. Her first-round score of 72 was not enough for her to make it to the next stage of the tournament. And so began a long and eventful break from the sport.

After her last appearance at the Cognizant Founders Cup 2023, Jessica Korda announced that she was suffering from an injury. Hence, she had decided to take an indefinite break from golf to go into rehabilitation. It has since been 17 months and we haven’t seen her pick up a club for any professional event.

But that is about to change as she is slowly making her comeback to golf. So what kept her away for all this time?

While she was actively posting on social media, we didn’t get to watch her participate in competitive golf ever since her announcement. We can completely understand why considering the major life events she has experienced during this hiatus.

Jessica Korda had been suffering from a lingering back injury since the beginning of the 2023 season. Her social media post confirmed that the issues were now affecting her gameplay as she had been underperforming since a while back. A rehabilitation break was vital for her to be able to perform at the top-most level again.

But that is not the only reason she was being held back from the sport. Jessica Korda and her partner; John DelPrete, were expecting their first baby. She announced the news of the pregnancy to her fans on her Instagram back on August 25, 2023.

Fast-forward to February 3, 2024, and we learned that the couple had given birth to a son. Greyson John DelPrete became the youngest member of the Korda family and has since been the star of Jessica Korda’s Instagram.
