Serena Williams shares powerful message on being ‘robbed of joy’
Serena Williams says it is ‘okay to walk away’ when being ‘robbed of joy’ in a powerful social media post. The tennis icon has shared the inspirational quote with her followers.
Williams “evolved away” from tennis two years ago but has maintained a huge presence online. She updates fans on her life and revealed last week that she had a benign cyst removed from her neck.
The 43-year-old was clearly feeling inspirational as she shared a piece of advice with her X followers.
Williams wrote: “I don’t know who needs to hear this (maybe no one) but if someone, even someone close to you is robbing you of your joy it’s ok to walk away.”
Meanwhile, Williams opened up on a health scare last week. She revealed that she had noticed a lump on her neck several months ago but was advised that it did not need to be removed.
However, having spotted that the lump was getting bigger, Williams was told to have the cyst taken out. The 23-time Grand Slam champion revealed after undergoing the operation that “all was OK”.
Speaking in a video on social media, she said: “Back in May I found a lump showing on my neck. I immediately went to the doc got a MRI and was told I have a brachial cyst. Have you ever heard of that?
