Rory McIlroy Arrives Home to Hero’s Welcome as Heartfelt Family Photos Surface

Rory McIlroy opted out of the RBC Heritage Signature Event this week as he headed home to Northern Ireland to spend time with his parents and family.
On Friday morning, footage showed McIlroy with his daughter, Poppy, in his arms getting off their private jet at Belfast Airport in Northern Ireland, per Belfast Telegraph, a local publication.
The footage also captured his golf clubs coming off the plane.
McIlroy mentioned heading home soon after his win at Augusta National, but did not specifically say when. His private plane left Palm Beach International on Tuesday evening and arrived at Farnborough early Wednesday morning.
The five-time major winner won his first major in 11 years, and his hometown began the celebrations immediately. A local bakery made a sweet treat to honor McIlroy, including a photo of Rory in his Green Jacket on a shortbread biscuit.
Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom, and to honor McIlroy, every piece of mail sent from April 15-17 had a stamp on it
It seems his home country is quite proud of his accomplishments. Including a personalized stamp on every piece of mail is unique, but it also feels like something the UK would do to honor one of their own.
To see him with Poppy melts your heart. He put family first after accomplishing one of his biggest dreams, showing that his priorities had shifted.
