Lexi Thompson Drops 3-Word Relationship Update After Cutting Short Her LPGA Comeback

It was expected that Lexi Thompson would be away from the course for a while when she teed up for the last time as a full-time professional. Having wrapped up her 2024 season at the Grant Thornton Invitational in December, she soon got on with her personal life and announced a New Yearโ€™s Day engagement to her boyfriend, Max Provost. But just over a month later, she was back swinging the golf club at the Founders Open for a special reason.

The 11-time LPGA Tour champion was in action at the Bradenton Country Club, having wasted little time to say yes to the opportunity to play at the historic event. She said, โ€œThe Founders are the reason why weโ€™re able to be out here today and to be on the LPGA Tour,โ€ said Thompson. โ€œThose are the women that founded the Tour, so weโ€™re lucky and honored to be able to tee it up here. And this is only about three hours from my home, so definitely an easy trip. I definitely plan on playing a few more times this year.โ€ However, after she finished T13 at the event, she stated that she would be taking some time again.

In an Instagram post, she wrote, โ€œWas a solid week, the first week back with a T13 finish; time to celebrate big 30 tomorrow ๐Ÿ™ˆ and have some weeks off!โ€ But guess what? It turns out February has had a lot more in store for her than her birthday.
