His official prize money during his playing days came to £10.1m, yet he’s made a significant amount off the court through punditry, where he earns around £200,000 alone for his two-week BBC role over Wimbledon, and also rakes it in from his deals with ESPN, CBS, NBC, USA and Eurosport.
He’s also had handsome paydays through his side gig as an actor, where he has appeared in films such as ‘Anger Management’ and sitcoms such as ’30 Rock’. McEnroe has never been one to shy away from spending his fortune, however. He has an extensive car collection and a portrait of himself painted by Andy Warhol, worth over £35,000.

McEnroe was married to Academy Award-winning actress Tatum O’Neal from 1986 to 1994. They had three children; however, following their divorce, McEnroe was awarded sole custody in 1998.
However, he achieved a second chance at love when, in 1997, he met rockstar Patty Smyth, lead singer of the band Scandal, with whom he has two children. In a candid admission, McEnroe revealed that, although Smyth gave him another shot at romance, he conceded he wasn’t looking for anything serious when they first met.
