Jason Day Accused of Disrespecting Pebble Beach With His Inappropriate Choice by Golf Community
Jason Day and his outfits are slowly becoming iconic. The Australian golfer has been sporting crazy outfits ever since signing with Malbon Golf, post his eight-year association with Nike. The trendy outfits the brand has him wear invoke wild reactions from fans, always. Most recently, was in the 4th round of the Farmers Insurance Open. At Torrey Pines, Day’s quarter-zipped sweater with shades of blue invited the ire of the fans. “Just how much are they paying him to look foolish?” one fan had asked after seeing the outfit. The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am was no different.
Day wore a sweatshirt ensemble for day 4 of the open. He had a gray pullover on top of his collared shirt and baggy pants (yes, you read that right!) with drawstrings. Do you remember his baggy pants from Masters? Or shall we say his pantaloons? This time around, it was not just the fans who noticed; commentators did too.
After Day scored an eagle at the par-5 hole 14, one of the CBS commentators said, “One would say that was quite a comfortable shot there from Jason,” referring to both the easy eagle as well as drawing attention to his outfit. Then came Trevor Immelman, former PGA Tour golfer, and one of the commentator’s reactions. “Did he lose his luggage?” quipped the 2008 Masters winner.
