Scottie Scheffler shows true colors with Rory McIlroy moment at Pebble Beach

Scottie Scheffler amusingly queued for an autograph from Rory McIlroy during a hilarious exchange between the pair after the Northern Irishman’s hole-in-one at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
The County Down golfing great demonstrated his class during an impressive showing in the opening round at Spyglass Hill Golf Course in his first PGA Tour start of 2025. The four-time major championships winner hit an ace for just the second time in his glittering career- with his previous one coming at the 2023 Travellers Championship.
After his memorable hole-in-one on the par-three 15th hole, McIlroy eventually carded a score of 66 in the first round, leaving him just two shots shy of pace-setter Russell Henley. Compatriot Shane Lowry also scored an ace on the par-three seventh in what was a momentous showing from the Irish contingent in California.
A clip posted by the tournament’s official page on X later showed McIlroy interacting with fans following the first round at Pebble Beach as enthusiasts lined-up to get their hero’s autograph. In an amusing scene, rival Scheffler then emerged from the pack of fans, as he appeared to be ambling for his peer’s signature, before McIlroy quipped: “Can I sign your hand?”
