But after a disappointing effort on the 15th hole, the American let his frustration boil over.

Approaching his bag, Scheffler struck it with his club in a rare display of anger.

The swing knocked it to the ground and stunning spectators both on the ground and at home.

The 28-year-old went on to bogey the hole.

And golf fans expressed their displeasure at his conduct, despite it coming at the Phoenix Open, which is renowned for its rowdy nature.
