Duchess Sophie and Prince Edward have been happily married for over 25 years, with the couple seeming stronger than ever on their recent tour to Nepal.
As well as always supporting one another, it seems that the couple, both 60, were also lucky enough to have the support of their nearest and dearest, including Prince Edward’s mum the late Queen Elizabeth II.
While it is well-known the late Queen was very fond of Sophie as a person, it seems Her Majesty was also extremely supportive of the duchess marrying her youngest son, with their wedding taking place in June 1999.
Royal author Phil Dampier previously told The Sun that the late Queen believed Sophie, who previously had a career in PR, was well-matched to Edward.
