Brooks Koepka’s wife undergoes ‘barbaric’ C-section, premature boy in NICU
Jena Sims, wife of Brooks Koepka, delivered a baby boy via cesarean section on July 27 due to arriving six weeks ahead of schedule. Their son remains in the neonatal intensive care unit [NICU] “for a little while longer.”
Sims, 34, took to Instagram Stories to call the C-section procedure “barbaric” and said it was not her first choice. She wanted a natural birth, but stated “it was all worth it” to have young Crew Koepka alive and well.
The C-section was not my first choice, but it was the only way to get him here safely,” Sims wrote. “It’s such a barbaric procedure, but I’m taking each day step by step!
“Finally turned a corner with the pain and my milk is cooperating. (Praise!) Not being around him constantly is an added hurdle, along with so much else emotionally. It was all worth it.”
The baby shower for baby Crew was supposed to be Saturday. They donated the party to Quantum House, a place for children to stay while receiving life-changing medical procedures and rehabilitation.
