Jordan Spieth Announces Big Family News After A Tough Week On The Wrist

Some events prove to be life-changing. For Jordan Spieth, that was the entry into fatherhood. His words prove that as he calls it the “most rewarding work that there is.” In 2024 September, while recovering from his wrist surgery, Spieth made a public appearance at the Brookhaven Country Club just outside where he was born, Dallas. The three-time Major winner and the father of two had a very interesting thought on fatherhood and the impact it had on his life.
I’m loving being a dad. It’s cool to have this time during the day with my kids too, you know. I can do half of what I can normally do,” stated Spieth. The University of Texas alum was really cherishing the free time he was getting to spend with his kids while recovering from his surgery. The American golfer then gratefully added, “I like to think of myself as a very active dad. I’ve always been very involved and my family has traveled with me almost every single week on the road.” Clearly, Spieth loves being a dad!
Jordan Spieth met his wife Annie Verret in high school. They married in 2018 and welcomed their first child, a baby boy on November 14, 2021. The couple named him Sammy Spieth. Sammy made his first appearance on the greens at the Masters, only 5 months after his birth. Sammy was also spotted at the 2024 US Open with his mom on Father’s Day. He sat with a cute cap on his stroller beside Annie on the sidelines as his dad approached in the middle of the game to check on him. It was a very wholesome family moment.
