Andy Murray’s wife skived off school to watch him play tennis and got caught lying

It’s been almost two decades since Andy Murray won his first of 46 ATP Tour titles.

The Brit lifted his maiden trophy at the San Jose Open in 2006, with his now-wife Kim Sears watching on courtside. The pair celebrated his victory with a cheeky kiss.

But Murray’s wife was never meant to attend the tournament, and years later, she revealed that she had told her school she was off sick before getting caught.

Murray recently celebrated the 19-year anniversary of his maiden title. The former world No. 1 was unseeded going into the tournament in San Jose.

But he went on an incredible run, taking out top seed Andy Roddick before defeating Lleyton Hewitt in the final to get his hands on his first trophy.
