Players 2025: Watch Jordan Spieth absolutely flush left-handed shot during latest wild adventure
Jordan Spieth continues to do Jordan Spieth things during the second round of the Players. A day after a roller-coaster 70, Spieth had his latest adventure on the fifth hole at TPC Sawgrass on Friday. And this time, he hit a shot left-handed.
First, let’s start with a pair of wild tee shots from the three-time major champ. Spieth hooked his drive way left, then quickly reloaded and hit essentially the same exact shot:
The good news for Spieth was his first golf ball was in play. The bad news was that it wound up near a tree, limiting his backswing. Well, his right-handed backswing. After deciding he needed to hit his second shot lefty, Spieth quickly stepped up and absolutely flushed one back into the fairway:
It was just a punch out, but that was still impressive. Spieth’s lefty stroke looks pretty pure, huh? Then again, we probably shouldn’t be surprised give the fact he’s a southpaw on the mound.
Unfortunately—and somewhat shockingly given his history of ridiculous recoveries—Spieth was unable to save par. His third shot wound up 40 feet from the hole and he two-putted for bogey.
Anyway, you never know what you’re going to see with this guy. But you always know he’s going to give you your money’s worth.
