Jordan Spieth Drops Personal Update About Wife Annie Verret and Family Amid Injury originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

Jordan Spieth, currently sidelined from the Travelers Championship with a neck and upper-back injury, shared not just his physical setback but an emotional update about his growing family.

During a press conference on Thursday, the golfer opened up about the upcoming birth of the couple’s third child. His wife, Annie (Verret) Spieth and the star are already proud parents to son Sammy (born November 2021) and daughter Sophie (September 2023), and are now preparing to welcome their newest child in July.

“We’re having a baby here in a couple weeks, so I’ll have some time off now,” Jordan Spieth told reporters. This break will also help him recover from the injury and come back to the sport as soon as possible.

“Hopefully, after a few days, I go through the right process to just get right back to where I was. Yeah, it’s a bummer. It’s a bummer at this event, obviously.”

The golfing world vividly remembers the family’s recent public appearance at the Masters’ Par 3 Contest, where Annie supported him as a caddie while pregnant, and Sammy and Sophie charmed spectators from the sidelines.

Family remains the first priority for the three-time major winner. Additionally, Jordan will look to get healthy in the coming weeks.

“I think having kids and recognizing that, where golf was (my) life, I don’t think it’s necessarily a very healthy thing,” Jordan shared in a press conference in July 2024.
