Jordan Spieth remains one of the most talented players in the game and, still only 31, you would like to think that there are a number of big wins and more Ryder Cup appearances all to come.
Here, we take a closer look at the three-time Major winner.
Born? Spieth was born on 27/7/93 in Dallas and he has a sister, Ellie, and brother, Steven. He grew up playing golf at Brookhaven Country Club where fellow PGA Tour pros Scott Verplank, Brian Watts and Andrew Magee also began.
Turn pro? Spieth enjoyed a glittering amateur career which included two US Junior Amateurs and the 2011 Walker Cup at Royal Aberdeen. At the University of Texas he helped his team win the NCAA championship and was the Player of the Year. Before turning pro he played in the Byron Nelson in 2010, where he finished 16th. He added 32nd the following year.
He would also play in the 2012 US Open where he was the low amateur and he signed off his non-paid career by becoming the World No. 1 amateur and making five of eight cuts in PGA Tour events. He then turned pro in December 2012, midway through his sophomore year. The following month he signed up with Under Armour.
