‘Enjoy Your Retirement’: Lexi Thompson’s Olympics Absence Goes Unnoticed As Fans Celebrate Her New Lifestyle
“Although this has been an amazing journey, it hasn’t always been an easy one,“ shared Lexi Thompson on May 28. In an open letter, the LPGA Pro announced her retirement from golf. The Grant Thornton Invitational, from December 13 to December 15, will be the last time the 29-year-old will hit the greens.
Sadly, in her last year as a professional, Thompson could not represent her country at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The LPGA pro had previously made two appearances at the quadrennial event, teeing off for the Stars and Stripes in 2016 and 2020, but did not make a significant impact on either occasion.
This year, she is not eligible since her ranking has dropped to 39, and only the top 15 players on the LPGA Tour can be a part of the Women’s Olympic Golf Championship. But that does not seem to bother the star, as she is endlessly enjoying her days outside the course!
Lexi Thompson has been true to her workout routines and her golf swings too. But once in a while, she has been seen enjoying her breaks. Just a few hours ago, the 29-year-old posted a picture of herself in front of a beach in Florida, a day after posting her workout video. She was seen wearing a gorgeous swimsuit and looked stunning in it.

The 15-time LPGA Tour winner has repeatedly voiced the downsides of constant public scrutiny and the immense pressure that comes with being a professional golfer. However following her retirement announcement, the LPGA pro seems to be much more relieved. It is evident from the caption she gave with her post. “Sky above. Sand below. Peace within” wrote Thompson.
