Jordan Spieth admits ‘I’ve never experienced this’ as full extent of turmoil emerges

Jordan Spieth has revealed he’s ‘never experienced’ an injury like the current wrist problem plaguing his performances.

The Texas-born star is gearing up for the Wyndham Championship in North Carolina, having secured his best-ever final in a major championship this year at last month’s Open.

But Spieth admitted ahead of the Wyndham Championship he’s expecting to go under the knife when the current golf season comes to a close.

The three-time major winner said: “It’s been a frustrating year because it’s been maybe my best driving year ever.

“And then the clubs that I make the most impact into the ground with, which normally are my bread and butter, have been pretty off.

It’s not hurting, but subconsciously it’s hard not to look at the numbers and think this isn’t a coincidence.

“I’ve been taking trips out as well as being in contact with a lot of doctors, getting it scanned again and trying to figure out what the next move is.”

Insisting he will be able to get back to his best, the 31-year-old added: “[I’m] probably going to have to do something about it this offseason.
