Jon Rahm’s $9,000,000 Oversight Can Cost Him Dearly as LIV Golf Recruitment Plans Become Public

Another Spaniard on the breakaway circuit, Jon Rahm, has been on the lookout to replace Kieran Vincent after he got relegated. But the 2-time major winner’s decision to end his season early may cost him in finding a better player.
After the LIV Golf season concluded, Rahm went back to the DP World Tour for one reason: to get Ryder Cup eligibility and not lose his European Tour card. He needed to play four events, and he did, the Andalucia Masters being his last. Even at the Andalucia Masters, the LIV Golf pro was scouting for a new face, especially one who had a deal with Callaway. But he couldn’t sign one as he said, “I still don’t have a player who is already signed, but we have six or seven in mind.”
Now, Rahm had another huge event to scout through for his teammates, the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, which has a $9 million prize purse. The 2023 Masters winner is eligible for the first DP World Tour playoff event but has chosen not to participate in it. Some players like 3-time DP World Tour winner Nicolai Hojgaard, his Ryder Cup teammate Tommy Fleetwood, other youngsters including Rasmus Hojgaard, and many others who could become Legion XIII’s part.
