Andy Murray’s luxury hotel business raking it in after shake-up as latest fortune revealed

SIR Andy Murray’s hotel business made a profit of more than £400,000 last year, new figures have revealed.

The double Wimbledon champion bought the 15-room Cromlix House Hotel near his home town of Dunblane for almost £2 million in 2013.

It has since become a five-star hotel with an Albert Roux restaurant which has won a string of hospitality industry awards.

It was run by a management firm until last month when Murray and his wife Kim announced they would be taking a more hands-on approach.

Newly published accounts show it has made a healthy profit following a difficult spell in recent years when it was twice forced to close for several months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The latest accounts, which cover the period up to March 31 2022, show Cromlix LLP made a profit of £416,222 compared to a loss of £189,758 the previous year.

Murray, 35, who owns the firm with his wife, has committed to continuing to support the hotel financially to allow it to continue to operate.

The latest accounts state: “The LLP is dependent on the support of the members to continue as a going concern.

“This support has been confirmed as being in place therefore the financial statements have been prepared on the ongoing concern basis.”

Cromlix has become the venue for Murray family gatherings.
