David Beckham’s lost wallet was found by world-famous star who took money out of it

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal regaled with a comical tale of stumbling across David Beckham’s wallet in Los Angeles. As one of the sport’s most celebrated figures, Shaq has clinched four NBA championships – three with the Los Angeles Lakers and another with the Miami Heat.

Beckham, iconic in the realm of football, caused a stir when joining LA Galaxy from Real Madrid in 2007, and now is the co-owner of Inter Miami, contributing significantly to the acquisitions of football stars like Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez.

During an entertaining segment on ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’, O’Neal, who was alongside Beckham’s wife Victoria, amusingly recollected the Beverly Hills encounter.

In jest, he contemplated pocketing the cash within the found wallet until he recognized the owner as Beckham. “I was walking one day in Beverly Hills and I found a wallet,” recounted O’Neal.

“Usually when I find wallets I just take all the money out and I just throw them, but this was a nice wallet,” reports the Express.

After recognising Beckham’s identification inside, rather than turning it over to a desk clerk, Shaq decided to seek out Beckham personally to return his lost item. He pulled a prank initially by demanding a hefty sum for its return.

“First I played a joke, I was like ‘I have your wallet, it’s going to cost you a million dollars to get it back’, but he knew it was me. [Beckham said] ‘Shaq, stop playing’. I was like ‘Dave, I found your wallet’.

“The funny thing is he [Beckham] said ‘There was some money in this wallet, you know what happened? ‘ And I was like ‘nope’.”
