Scottie Scheffler Surges Ahead of Rory McIlroy, Sets Sights on Tiger Woods Amid Promising Updates

Since Scottie Scheffler clinched the #1 ranking, the golf world has been obsessed with him. Lately, he has been off the course. The reason? A recent post by NUCLR Golf revealed some impressive stats. Scheffler has surpassed Rory McIlroy’s record, spending 123 weeks as the world’s top golfer. Scheffler first got to number 1 on March 28, 2022. McIlroy was #1 for 122 weeks. This achievement is undoubtedly impressive, but it’s worth noting that Scheffler still has a long way to go to match the all-time greats.

For instance, Tiger Woods, an 84-time PGA Tour winner, spent an incredible 13 years at the top. Woods holds the record for most total weeks (683) and consecutive weeks (281) as the top OWGR ranker. Scheffler has often spoken about Woods in awe, recognizing the significant gap between his achievements and Woods’ incredible legacy. Scheffler humbly acknowledged, “I mean, the guy stands alone, I think, in our game.”
