Australian Open news: Star ‘threatened’ by opponent as Sinner amazed by Djokovic
Novak Djokovic beat Carlos Alcaraz in four set to book his place in the Australian Open semi-finals. The Serb is now just two wins away from a record-breaking 25 Grand Slam titles.
With Andy Murray in his coaching box, Djokovic proved their is still life in the old dog. The 37-year-old left the court for treatment late in the first set and there were fears that he would not be able to continue.
But he channelled all of his experience to push through and set up a tie with Alexander Zverev on Friday.
Ben Shelton joined Djokovic and Zverev in the semi-finals after beating Lorenzo Sonego, leaving world No 1 Jannik Sinner and Alex de Minaur to battle it out for the final spot in the last four.
