Tiger Woods confirms he won’t play in 2025 Genesis Invitational after mother’s death

Tiger Woods has confirmed via social media that he will not be part of the 2025 Genesis Invitational, stressing that he is not ready following the death of his mother last week. Although the experienced golfer prepared for this challenge, motivated to make a positive result, it is clear that the death of his mother, Kultida, left a huge mark on him.

Tiger Woods is aware that his mother would like him to play in the tournament, but he needs some time to process his emotions.

“I planned to tee it up this week, but I’m just not ready. I did my best to prepare, knowing it’s what my Mom would have wanted, but I’m still processing her loss.”- Tiger wrote on Instagram.

The 48-year-old golfer is grateful to everyone who supported him in difficult times. Tiger Woods hopes to be at Torrey at the end of the week.

“Thanks to everyone who has reached out. I hope to be at Torrey later in the week and appreciate the continued kindness since my Mom’s passing.”- he continued.
